# The Problem with Bluefin

#### Lack of interoperability

Defragmentation of assets in the DeFi space is still very high. Users cannot use native BTC, ETH, DOT, etc in one protocol.

#### High fees and overcollateralization

On average, users are required to surrender 180% of the loan value in collateral to protect from liquidation. On top of this, to interact with many existing DeFi protocols, users are required to pay enormous fees for contract execution

#### Lack of usability

There exists no simple, all-encompassing, intuitive UX required for accelerating mass adoption
