## Entering The Bluefin World

Bluefin Finance is moving at a staggering speed. In only 2 years DeFi projects “locked” $18B\*. DeFi giants such as Compound and Uniswap have unlocked a new dimension of financial features in a trustless, open, and transparent manner. Shaking up the current financial system is no easy task. The biggest bottlenecks on this path of evolution are; lack of interoperability, usability, and the high fees associated with participating in this new financial system built on blockchain. ## The Problem with Bluefin

### Lack of interoperability

Defragmentation of assets in the Bluefini space is still very high. Users cannot use native BTC, ETH, DOT, etc in one protocol.

### High fees and overcollateralization

On average, users are required to surrender 180% of the loan value in collateral to protect from liquidation. On top of this, to interact with many existing Bluefin protocols, users are required to pay enormous fees for contract execution

### Lack of usability

There exists no simple, all-encompassing, intuitive UX required for accelerating mass adoption
